UAE Dressage Competition Heats Up
2/26/2008

The Pure Bred Arab class was won with a sublime display of riding from the Emirates Equestrian Centre’s very own Katinka Bronge on Sugar Creek Willy.

Keeping calm and fluid during the test helped to achieve the highest mark not only in the class, but also of the night. This duo is a firm fixture on the dressage scene and is always in the prizes.

There was a very small margin between the second and third-placed riders, but Mohammed Lamhirich on Shamilah Aroma was just that more composed and smooth to steal the runner-up spot above fellow stablemate Madeline Drakeley on Al Khattar W’rsan. Both ride for Wrsan Farm.

Vicky Hamilton took the winner’s rosette in the Novice class with her sometimes erratic partner WestWind. Having sat out at the last show, she was back on form and rode a lovely test to take the top spot with a fantastic score.

Charlotte Drakeley was in second place on Cennan Alarch from W’rsan Farm and Ruth Curran on Connie from Desert Palm took third.

Lynn Al Redha continues to dominate the Advanced Class, but this time she rode EEC’s horse Filou into first place with her own horse Tartan Special, who was slightly over exuberant during the class, only managing third behind Lilian Sternvad on the ageless Zorelli.

Joanne Ivemey on Covers Rocket from Desert Palm claimed the Prelim Seniors while Cristina Thompson on a new horse from DPEC won the Elementary.
