Desert Palm Stables rider Joanne Ivemey had a very successful night taking out both the highest level classes last night, Medium and Elementary.
Ivemey won the former with a score of 67.4% on her striking, imported gelding Archimedes, only just beating Janice Jackson on the ever-consistent Vedo with 65.1%.
The duo went on to win the latter class an impressive 72.8%, followed by Christel Langois and her chestnut Arabian R S Kahraman with 68.3% and a tie for third place Lesley Jones aboard Kengarth Danielle and Charlotte Drakeley on Cennan Alarch scoring 64.1%.
The Novice class was very close with barely a point difference between the first three place getters.
Wrsan Farm claimed first and third with Mohammed Al Mhirech and his stallion Al Mijlas scoring 63.6%, and Ebrahim Al Mhirech aboard his stallion The Specialist with 62.1%.
In second place with 62.5% was Emirates Equestrian Centre’s Diane Crabtree riding Quantum Star.
Christine Khairallah rode a lovely test to win the Preliminary Seniors class on a Emirates Equestrian Centre’s Mr Gyps. This was the duo’s first pairing and could be one to look out for.
Khairallah gained a fantastic score of 74.6%, with Celeste Pretorius following in second on Quantum Noire 71.3%.
Third place saw another tie – this time with Michelle Woolmer and Kirsty Stroud scoring 70.4% on Cartier VS and Peter Du Fort respectively.
The Preliminary Juniors class was taken by one of the star Drakeley sisters, Madeline on R S Manar, riding for Royal Stables with a score of 65%.
Very close behind was Karin Lindbom, riding Emirates Equestrians Centre’s Minstrel in second place with 64.6%, and third place went to Holly Jones riding Tsunami Emerald on 58.8%.
The next competition will be held on February 23rd at the Emirates Equestrian Centre and entry to watch is free of charge.
