The feature class of the evening was the Medium test, and this was claimed by the winning combination from the FEI Medium competition last December, Janis Jackson and her talented, imported gelding Vedo, with a score of 66.1%.
They were closely followed by last week’s winner Joanne Ivemey on her gelding Archimedes in second place with 64.1% and Tracy Gill on Worthily, the newcomer to this level, with 63% placing third.
Charlotte Drakeley and Cennan Alarch took home the spoils for the Elementary class with 63.8%. This duo is a firm fixture on the dressage scene and is always in the placings.
Second place was a tie with Joanne Ivemey aboard Archimedes and Christel Langlois on R S Kahraman, both having 63.5%.
The Pure Bred Arabian class was a successful event for Wrsan Farm and the Al Mhirech brothers whose horses placed both first and second. The winner, Ebrahim Al Mhirech and The Specialist, scored 66.9%, followed by Mohammed Al Mhirech aboard Al Majlis with 64.5%. Third place went to Madeline Drakeley on R S Manar.
The Novice class saw two impressive rides by Franck Fogarolo, who rode Dans Boy and Oslo Des Beaux and tied for first place. Diane Crabtree closely followed in third on Quantum Star.
The reliable duo, Christine Khairallah and Mr Gyps once again took the winner’s rosette in the Preliminary Seniors, following on from their win in this class last week. The pair produced a rhythmic test, and achieved the highest mark not only in the class, but also of the night.
Susanna Foustok and Tristan claimed second place with 73.5% and Diane Crabtree and Quantum Star once again took third with 71.3%.
The final class of the evening, the Preliminary Juniors, saw Karin Lindbom riding Emirates Equestrian Centre’s Minstrel trot away with first prize, closely followed by Jenna Angle aboard Nadja Du Porteau and Madeline Drakeley on R S Manar.
The next competition will be held on March 7th at the Emirates Equestrian Centre and entry to watch is free of charge.
