Ivemey and Archimedes add up
11/18/2009
Joanne Ivemey repeated last week’s double honours with two very well-orchestrated tests in the Medium and Medium Advanced class, scoring 65.8% and 66.4% respectively on the consistently-improving warm blood gelding Archimedes.
Ivemey says “I am really pleased with how Archie (Archimedes) is going. We missed the first half of last season, but he seems to be making up for it now. This is his first year competing higher than Medium, and I’m really pleased with how he’s taken to it. I’m now looking forward to the FEI World Dressage Challenge next month”.
Ivemey plans to compete in both Medium and Medium Advanced for the FEI event, which is to be held on the December 12th at the Emirates Equestrian Centre (EEC).
The runner-up positions were awarded to EEC’s Christopher Cyra on Woody Allen in the Advanced Medium class, with a tie for Second place in Medium between EEC’s Manuela Gruss on her talented New Forest pony Niklaus and Royal Stables rider Christel Langlois on her Arabian stallion RS Kahraman.
The Elementary competition was won again by Cristina Calin-Thompson, performing an eye-catching ride on the stunning Apollo’s Mastermind with an impressive 68.3%.
Second placegetter was EEC’s Franck Fogarolo riding the Irish Sports horse Dans Boy, followed by another EEC rider, Christine Khairallah on the Polish bred gelding Lubo.
On-form combination was the Novice class winner Tracy Gill riding Malthé with a winning score of 65.9%. Tanja Bornmann placed second on her chestnut mare Excelsia Royal. Jennifer Murray, from Desert Palm stepped in to take third place on her horse Go Go Salsa.
Tanja Bornmann and Excelsia Royal managed to go one better and take home the honours in the Preliminary Senior class, impressively earning the highest score for the evening with 72.5%. Valerie Moriet from Desert Palm came second on Ricoh, and Natalie Homer took the third placing on Quattro Nuevo riding for Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club (DPEC).
Junior rider Madeleine Drakely was on-the-mark once again, scoring a notable 70.3% in the Preliminary Juniors class. Her Arabian gelding Sugar Creek Willy was perfectly composed in his test, easily snatching the win.
