Zabeel Riding Barn takes top honors at National Show Jumping competition

It was an exciting two-day event, which displayed the talents of the growing number of equestrian athletes in UAE - and provided a great opportunity to see top class riders as well as champions of tomorrow competing.

“It’s delightful to see so many spectators for our shows at Emirates Equestrian Centre and we are very grateful to Zabeel Riding Barn for their continued support” Paul McAuley, Manager EEC.

Riders and horses competed in classes with jumps ranging from 95cm fences up to the more demanding courses of 130cm fences.

The first class of the day was the B1-A2 class that is a 130cm course jumped in two phases. The winning rosette deservedly went to Bjorn Bederman riding Le Roi 10 for Zabeel Riding Barn, followed by stablemate Lena Timm and Crispin. Third went to Ali Abdullah Al Kumaiti on Al Mutamaken from Ajman Equestrian Club.

Later in the same day riders competed in the C1-B2 class, was an accumulator class with fences up to 120cm. The winner was Mohammed Shafi Al Rumaithi riding Cascador from Emirates Heritage Club. Second and third place went to Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club riders Sheikh Ali Al Qassimi on Tisanto and Sheikh Ali Al Noaimi on Montgomery respectively.

The third class was a C2, one round against the clock with fences at 105cm. Al Fursan Stable claimed first and third place, with Madeleine Wilson riding Ganado de Baugy in top form and Laura Reader riding Shelly in the latter position. Second prize went to Rashed Humaid on N99 Getconti from Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.

Following two rounds in the D class, Mohammed Al Manadili on from Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club came in first, followed by Abdulla Salem Al Zaabi riding Centurio 1 and Abdul Lateef Al Hammadi on Hill Howk.

On the final day, riders competed in the B1-A2 class which was one round against the clock. The winning trophy went to Hamad al Kirbi on the horse Loyalty 2 from Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, and second place went to Sheikha Latifa Al Maktoum on her mare Peanuts de Beaufour from Emirates Equestrian Centre, with Khalid al Junaibi on Justes Desfi from Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club in third.

The B2/C1 class on the second day was won by Salim al Suwaidi on the horse Nathalie, with second place going to Abdulla al Za’abi on Kildaray and Mohammed Al Ketby on Kokie placing third.

In the C2 class the winning rosette went to Rashid al Nuaimi on the horse N99 Getconti, second place went to Haitham Tawfeeq riding Jumper Lanleya and third place went to Sheikh Ali al Nuaimi on Ulivia.

The Next event at Emirates Equestrian Centre will be the One Day Event, on Friday February 19th. Entry to watch is free of charge, spectators are welcome.
